Patient Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with:
Joint Commission International (JCI) standards
SafeCare and internal hospital policies
Implement and monitor International Patient Safety Goals (IPSG)
Conduct:
Internal clinical audits
External audit participation
Participate in:
Mortality and morbidity reviews
Clinical policy development
Provide:
Training and mentorship on patient safety standards
Support during CME & CNE sessions
Prepare:
Monthly & quarterly IPSG reports
Patient safety data validation
Lead and coordinate:
Incident reviews
Root cause analyses (e.g., falls, pressure ulcers)
Monitor:
Patient transfers and ambulance services (audits)
Conduct:
Chart audits
Clinical documentation reviews
Support improvements in clinical systems and patient outcomes
Assist in JCI accreditation processes and quality initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required)
Valid license with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC)
Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience in a hospital setting
Background in:
Health Management
Public Health (advantage)
